Linux is always a little bit more tricky and I do try to make Iris mini really easy to install on Linux, but I make this page to explain some things for non-technical people.<\/p>\n

The first thing I want to note is that on Linux it’s just impossible to have only 1 version for all Linux distributions and for 32-bit and 64-bit systems.<\/p>\n

Linux is made to be small and customizable which is nice, but it’s really hard for developers. This is why I am asking you to not be mad at me if Iris mini doesn’t work on some strange distribution.<\/p>\n

At the moment Iris mini should work on all distributions with X11. This is the graphical user interface of Gnome, KDE, Cinnamon, MATE, Xfce, LXDE and almost all Linux distributions.<\/p>\n

The open source community decided to rewrite X11 and in the future X11 will be replaced with Wayland. At the moment Iris mini is just not possible for Wayland, because the needed API are still not created, but the moment they add it to Wayland, I will make and support also Iris mini for Wayland.<\/p>\n

You don’t need this technical details. You only need to find if your system is 32 or 64 bit. You can find this somewhere in the settings or by running this command in terminal:<\/p>\n

uname -a<\/code><\/p>\n

Ubuntu<\/strong> is the name of the distribution. I also have Debian, Mint, Kali, Fedora, Elementary, Manjaro and other popular distributions for testing on my PC.
\nx86_64 <\/strong>means 64-bit system
\nx86 <\/strong>means 32-bit system<\/p>\n

With this information download the latest version for your system bellow.<\/p>\n
